MICR Training

MICR Training

Both in-person and online MICR training sessions will be available this year for Michigan State Police (MSP) and local law enforcement agencies. All sessions, except for the new Full-Time Law Enforcement and Employee Counts (FTLEEC) collection training on September 10, will cover the full MICR training curriculum, which includes such topics as offense classifications, jurisdictional issues, and hate/bias crimes, as well as tools available to agencies within the MICR application.

Both online and in-person MICR Training is MCOLES registered with no registration fee.

In-person

MICR training will be held on the following dates:

• Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - Lake County Sheriff’s Office, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Monday, March 17, 2025 - Green Oak Township Police Department, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, April 9, 2025 - Northville Township Police Department, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, April 22, 2025 - Ionia Department of Public Safety, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, May 14, 2025 - Midland Police Department, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Thursday, May 15, 2025 - Royal Oak Police Department, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Thursday, July 10, 2025 - Garden City Police Department, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, August 20, 2025 - Kent County Sheriff’s Office, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, August 26, 2025 - St. Louis Police Department, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 3, 2025 - Reed City Police Department, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, September 16, 2025 - Portage Department of Public Safety, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, October 8, 2025 - Mackinaw City Police Department, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Thursday, October 16, 2025 - Columbia Charter Township Police Department, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

MICR Training will be held via TEAMS on the following dates:

• Wednesday, February 12, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, March 5, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, June 4, 2025 - 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - FTLEEC - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

• Wednesday, November 19, 2025 - 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, December 10, 2025 - 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Registration

January and February classes will use MI-Train, for registration. Click the magnifying glass icon and search “MICR” in the Search TRAIN box. Select the date you desire and click “Register” to reserve your seat. Select the date you desire and click "Register" to reserve your seat. Please register at your earliest convenience as attendance for these classes will be limited.

March through December classes will utilize a new registration function available through the Professional Development Learning Center. More information will be shared in the next few months regarding the new registration process.
