Michigan Pediatric Epilepsy Project
Michigan Pediatric Epilepsy Project
The goal of the Michigan Pediatric Epilepsy Project was to improve health outcomes among Michigan’s children and youth with epilepsy, especially those in rural and underserved areas. Project partners included primary and specialty care providers and other stakeholders across the state. By working together, the project strengthened practices related to health care transition, communication among providers, access to telehealth/telemedicine services, and shared decision-making. A Quality Improvement Network helped clinic partners to carry out activities related to the project’s four focus areas. The project was led by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) Division. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal Child Health Bureau (MCHB) provided funding from 2010 through 2024 to support the project, which ended 9/30/2024.
