Information on deaths to children before the first birthday are presented under Infant Mortality The statistical data for these tables are developed by matching information from the report of an infant's death to the information reported at the time of birth. The numbers and rate of infant death are presented for the years 1970 through 2007 for Michigan with national rates for comparative purposes. Information by local health district, by county and for many Michigan communities is also provided as well as detailed information by selected characteristics of the newborn and the mother.
