The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the registered nurse license and nursing specialty certification of Michael Raymond Imbleau, R.N., C.R.N.A. The MDCH Bureau of Health Professions orders a summary suspension when it believes that the public's health, safety, and welfare warrant emergency action.

Imbleau, who was previously employed at Port Huron Hospital, has failed to comply with the terms of a substance abuse monitoring agreement with the Health Professional Recovery Program (HPRP). In January 2007, Imbleau underwent an evaluation and was diagnosed with opioid dependence. Based on the evaluation, Imbleau entered into a monitoring agreement with the HPRP stating, in part, that he agreed to be monitored for a minimum period of three years. Imbleau failed to remain compliant with the requirements of the HPRP monitoring agreement.

On March 13, 2008, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Imbleau's nursing license. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Imbleau's registered nurse license and nursing specialty certification.
