DMB Agencies, Boards, and Commissions

The Office of Children's Ombudsmanand the Office of the State Employerare autonomous entities that are housed in the Department of Management and Budget. Both the Children's Ombudsman and the director of the Office of State Employer are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Governor. 

The Civil Service Commission is a bipartisan commission consisting of four non-salaried persons appointed by the governor to serve eight-year, staggered terms.

The Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Fund Commission was created in 2004; once completed, the Memorial will commemorate the Michigan law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, which number 512 officers to date.

The State Administrative Boardreviews and approves qualifying state contracts and serves as a forum for public comment on those contracts.
