Child & Adolescent Health Center Program
Overview
The MDHHS Child and Adolescent Health Center Program services are aimed at achieving the best possible physical, intellectual, and emotional status of children and adolescents by providing services that are high quality, accessible, and acceptable to youth. Included under the umbrella of Child and Adolescent Health Program are three models of service delivery: 1) clinical Child and Adolescent Health Centers, offering primary care and mental health services and health education; 2) School Wellness Programs, offering nursing and mental health services and health education; 3) Expanding, Enhancing Emotional Health (E3), offering mental health services only. The CAHC Program administers more than 100 clinical Child and Adolescent health centers, over 50 School Wellness Programs, and over 100 Expanding, Enhancing Emotional Health (E3) programs throughout Michigan. While those with commercial insurance coverage can receive services, the CAHC Programs are especially targeted to provide care to uninsured, underinsured, and publicly insured youth. No child or adolescent is turned away for the inability to pay for services.
