Publicly Funded Health Insurance Contribution Act

2011 Public Act 152

2011 Public Act 152 created a new law that limits the amount that public employers pay toward employee medical benefit plans, beginning January 1, 2012.

On December 30, 2013, five amendments to 2011 Public Act 152 became effective. On June 20, 2014, 2011 Public Act 152 was further amended to exclude a city with a population greater than 600,000 from exempting itself from the requirements of the Act. On December 27, 2018, Public Act 477 amended the date by which the State Treasurer must post the following calendar year's (CY) limitations beginning with the 2019 notification of the CY 2020 limitations.  A link to the amendatory act, Public Act 477 of 2018, can be found below.
