Divestiture
MDOT"s focus is to secure private sector bidders who exhibit the best combination of purchase price and potential for providing long-term, continuous, efficient and reliable rail service. The process has been completed for the Lenawee County Rail System. Because state statute specifies the order in which the lines are to be divested, the Hillsdale County Rail System is the next line subject to divestiture.
