Michigan National Guard Soldiers from Wyoming return from Afghanistan

LANSING, MICH.?Following a 12-month tour of duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, approximately 70 Michigan National Guard Soldiers from the Wyoming-based, Company C, Brigade Special Troops Battalion return home. The Soldiers are scheduled to arrive for a homecoming ceremony at the Grand Valley Armory, Tuesday at 1 p.m.
While deployed, Company C provided voice, data and video and ethernet capabilities between rear-based and tactically-based elements as well as providing commercial data and voice network infrastructure supporting Base Operations on Bagram Airfield.
The homecoming ceremony will be held Tuesday, Dec., 13, at 1 p.m., at the Grand Valley Armory, 1200 44th Street Southwest, Wyoming, Mich., 49509.
Today, more than 1,700 Michigan National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom; however, as the Michigan Guard serves the nation abroad, more than 90 percent of the force is available, trained and ready to respond to a state emergency including a terrorist event.
