The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is announcing the availability of grant applications for the fiscal year 2013 Scrap Tire Market Development Program (Program), authorized by Part 169, Scrap Tires, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended. Grant funding will be available for advancing the use of scrap tires in Michigan.
Scrap Tire Market Development Grants are available to reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost to purchase scrap tires to support the development of increased markets for scrap tires. Grant funding is also available to reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost of purchasing equipment or for research and development to provide for a new or increased use for scrap tires.
Interested persons may complete a Letter of Interest form by clicking on the application packet below. The Letter of Interest form can be found on Page 8 of the application packet.
The deadline for receipt of the Letter of Interest is 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, February 15, 2013. The DEQ will accept Letters of Interest with all supporting documentation postmarked on or before February 15, 2013. The DEQ will not accept Letters of Interest submitted by e-mail or fax.
