Update to 2010 Health Care Services Manual |
It was recently brought to our attention that the limitation for reimbursement of Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) as described on page 52 of the 2010 Health Care Services Manual had not been updated to reflect the change in scope of chiropractic care as described in the amended version of the Workers' Disability Compensation Act, MCL 418.315(1), and the Public Health Code, MCL 500.16401. Therefore, we have modified the language in the manual to read:Chiropractic Manipulative Treatment (CMT) is billed with procedure codes 98940-98942. Procedure code 98943, and others that may be permitted by the expanded scope of practice as described in MCL 418.315(1), may be reimbursed but reimbursement is not required by a carrier.
