  UIA New Business FAQ
When purchasing an existing business, how do I find out what my UIA tax rate would be?

Answer:

The seller is required to provide the purchaser with UIA Form 1027, Business Transferor’s Notice to Transferee of Unemployment Tax Liability and Rate.

This form will advise the purchaser of the Unemployment tax rate that may be transferred with the business. The seller should request this form from UIA at least one week prior to the sale.
