FAQ
  Jobless Worker
How long does it take to find out if I am eligible to get unemployment if I am laid-off? quit? fired? on strike?

Answer:

Generally, the rule of thumb is:

  • Laid Off — Date of Filing

  • Quit or Fired #151; 3 to 4 weeks

  • Labor Dispute — 4 to 6 weeks

Also a separation involving other issues (such as severance pay or school or seasonal denial periods, and so on) may take longer — up to 4 to 6 weeks.
