Community parents invited to learn about saving for college
Representatives from Michigan Education Trust (MET), the state's prepaid
tuition program, will present a college savings seminar, Monday, January 8, from
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Davison High School, located at 1250 N. Oak, Davison.
The MET college savings seminar, part of Davison Community Schools' second
annual financial aid/college planning workshop, is free of charge and open to
area parents and guardians looking for information on saving for college.
MET staff will illustrate a failsafe way to take the guesswork out of saving for
college tuition through the MET program. A MET contract is a guaranteed way to
protect your savings against future tuition increases, because MET locks-in
tomorrow's tuition at today's rates.
For more information, please contact Michelle Edwards, Davison Community
Schools, at 810-591-0852.
Since its debut in 1988 as the nation's first guaranteed tuition program, MET
has sold more than 81,000 contracts with assets of nearly $1 billion. Not only
are MET contracts portable to Michigan private and out-of-state colleges and
universities, they may be transferred to other eligible family members. For more
