Earned Income Tax Credit, or EITC. Individuals and joint-filers, who claim an
Earned Income Tax Credit on their 2009 federal tax return, will be eligible to
claim a Michigan EITC of 20 percent of their federal credit. More than
700-thousand Michigan taxpayers claimed a Michigan EITC last year.
The Michigan Department of Treasury provides a wide-range of income tax and
credit information on its income tax Web site, at

their last name, Social Security Number, Adjusted Gross Income or Household
Income, and filing status. Taxpayers should note that hold times may vary,
depending on the volume of calls made to the department.
