The mission of the Michigan Land Bank is to promote economic growth in this state through the acquisition, assembly and disposal of public property, including tax reverted property, in a coordinated manner to foster the development of that property, and to promote and support land bank operations at the county and local levels.

When a property is identified it can be purchased by submitting an Application to the Michigan Land Bank and there is no fee to apply. On April 9, 2012, Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation (Public Act 74 & 75 of 2012) allowing the transfer of the former Michigan State Fairgrounds to the State of Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority to return the land to productive use. The property was officially transferred to the State of Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority on April 24, 2012. The State of Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority will soon be accepting proposals for the Development of the property, please return to our website for further information.
