How Do We Serve Municipalities?
The Michigan Municipal Bond Authority was created to provide effective, low-cost financing to local units of government in Michigan. The municipalities eligible for financing include: cities, villages, townships, counties, commissions and authorities, public school districts, community colleges, public colleges & universities, as well as many special purpose units, which include: drainage districts, fire protection, libraries, transit, waste management, and parks and recreation.
It is the goal of the Authority that, by reducing the financing costs for municipalities through the offering of tax-exempt bonds, the local costs and taxes for residents of Michigan will also be reduced. |
