Beginning January 1, 2004, all municipalities subject to the Revised Municipal Finance Act, (PA 34 of 2001), must submit their annual qualifying statement electronically using the Department of Treasury's Web site. If the municipality has not previously submitted a qualifying statement online, it must first obtain a password. To receive a password, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the municipality must call the Local Audit and Finance Division at (517) 373-0660 and request one. Once the Division confirms the CAO status, a password will be issued. This password must be used for the initial login but may be changed by the municipality, if desired.
