FAQ
  Opt-In County Foreclosure Info
What if the owner of a given parcel is not the taxpayer for that same parcel (due to land contract or some other arrangement)? If the taxes for that parcel are returned delinquent, who is on the hook?

Answer:
Unfortunately, there is no perfect answer to this question. Tax records may not be updated promptly, and unusual arrangements could prevent the most appropriate parties from being contacted immediately. However, the statute refers to notification of the "owner" of a given parcel. It is anticipated that the owner, having received notification, would promptly make contact with the taxpayer in an effort to remedy the situation. Our best solution has been to include "owner according to tax record" on the necessary forms.
