FAQ
  Individual Income Tax
I recently filed my taxes and chose Direct Deposit. I was unaware the bank account had been closed. What happens now?

Answer:

If your account has been closed the financial institution will return the deposit.

At that time the Michigan Department of Treasury will mail your refund to the address on your return within 30 days of the initial date of deposit.

Direct Deposit routing and account numbers are only accepted with the original return. The Michigan Department of Treasury cannot make any changes to the Direct Deposit information after the return has been submitted.

Please allow 30 days from the initial date of deposit before contacting the Department of Treasury.

Go to the Direct Deposit FAQ's for additional information.
