Under the NPDES Phase II Permit, MDOT is required to develop maps identifying the locations of their known outfalls. To complete these maps, MDOT is using two methodologies to locate outfalls: 1) MDOT is using existing survey data to estimate outfall locations, 2) MDOT is using their Illicit Discharge Elimination Program investigations to estimate outfall locations. These two methodologies are distinguished on the maps.
