Required State License(s):

• A Contractor must become a licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (MDLEG) - Asbestos Program; 517.322.1320.
• Individuals working for Asbestos Abatement Contractors must be trained in proper procedures for asbestos abatement. Once trained, these individuals must be accredited through the MDLEG-Asbestos Program prior to performing asbestos-related work in Michigan.
• Asbestos Training Course Providers and Asbestos Training Courses must be approved by the MDLEG-Asbestos Program.
