Newest Oakland County PLUS office ready to serve
MAY 25, 2010
Eastern Oakland customers now have expanded hours, more
services
The new East Oakland County PLUS Office opened today, offering area customers
extended hours and new services, Secretary of State Terri Lynn
Land announced.
The county's newest PLUS office features services and conveniences, such as
payment by Discover and MasterCard at the counter, instant titles and expanded
Wednesday hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The East Oakland PLUS Office at 1111 E. Long Lake Road in Troy was formed by
upgrading the Troy office and consolidating the Royal Oak office into it.
"More services and expanded hours are what customers have been asking for,
and we've been listening," Land said. "The new East Oakland County PLUS Office
helps us meet the needs of today's customers. PLUS offices are a key part of our
efforts to move services out of Lansing and into local communities."
Land reminds customers that they can often "skip the trip" to a branch office
by renewing their vehicle and watercraft registrations online, with a touch-tone
telephone or through the mail.
Creation of the PLUS office is part of Land's Branch Office Modernization
Program. Optimizing the use of people, dollars and technology reduces the
investment in "bricks and mortar" facilities while ensuring consistent levels of
service. This prudent redirection of resources has kept the department at the
forefront of innovative service and fiscal responsibility.
The program was launched in April 2004 and has resulted in the development of
more than 40
PLUS offices and six
SUPER!Centers
throughout the state. Customer satisfaction has consistently been high thanks to
the modern, convenient services and enhanced efficiencies these offices provide.
