"Spam" emails in the Merit email System: You may have received one or more emails through the Merit email system that appears to be from Verizon or from the FDIC. These emails did not originate from the Bureau of Elections. Do not open any attachments or click on any links within these emails. The emails appear to be "spam" and could possibly contain viruses. We have notified our email provider and requested that the addresses that these emails originated from be blocked.
We take every precaution to filter spam emails; however it is not possible to block 100% of all unwanted emails. Email received through your Merit email account that is not election-related and did not originate from a known source should be deleted. The QVF Help Desk staff monitors Merit email several times a day and spam is reported to our provider immediately so it is not necessary to report spam to the QVF Help Desk unless you need clarification on the validity of the email.
Thank you for your help and apologize for the inconvenience.
