QVF Software Release:
The Bureau of Elections is pleased to announce the successful release of QVF
software version 2.57. We appreciate your patience and assistance over the
past few days. Among other changes, the new software, referred to as the
"Collaborative Data Model" (CDM), makes it easier for county and local
election officials to complete a number of QVF tasks related to Michigan's
consolidated elections calendar. The CDM contains the following enhancements:
-
County clerks, as school election
coordinators, may now use the QVF to generate and document the issuance of
AV applications even if the completed AV applications will be received by
one or more local clerks.
-
County clerks, as school election
coordinators, may now use the QVF to temporarily consolidate/combine
precincts and assign temporary polling locations.
-
Custom voter list options have been
enhanced for "mixed" elections. For example, it is now possible to generate
a list of individuals who participated in a "mixed" election by school
district or by single jurisdiction.
-
The Election Geography portion of the
Election Setup module has changed considerably. E Wizard data will now be
used to pre-populate the various ballot styles needed for all elections.
In addition to the enhancements noted above,
software version 2.57 includes a new Petitions Module (now referred to as the
"Petitions Search Module") and major revisions to the QVF Status Code Screen.
Details follow:
Petitions Search Module
- The all new Petitions Search Module offers election officials significant
new features:
-
The module may now be accessed by
both county and local election
officials allowing county clerks to search for voters and view signatures on
petitions that cross jurisdiction lines.
-
The new module is not tied to any specific
election. Clerks no longer have to wait for elections to be created or
"set-up" by the Bureau to use this module; petitions may be entered and
tracked as soon as they are received.
-
The new module identifies duplicate
signatures within a petition.
-
The software will automatically remove the
cancellation countdown from any voter who signs a petition.
-
The new module includes a report listing
voters who have signed petitions and one listing duplicate signatures.
Status Code Screen -
A number of previously deactivated status
codes have been removed from the Status Code Screen giving the screen a much
cleaner, more user friendly look.
Detailed instructions on
the use of the new modules are indicated above.
