The fee for a federal background record check is $89.25. These fees were established by the federal government and the TSA authorized company. You may pay by credit card or electronic check when you preregister. If you do not pay this fee when you preregister, you must pay using a money order for $89.25, made out to: Integrated Biometric Technology, LLC.

The state of Michigan does not collect or receive any fees related to the background checks. The $89.25 is for the federal background check only and does not cover any other driver licensing fees.
