Nationally . . .
- More than 95,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant.
- About 50 percent of those waiting are minorities.
- 18 people die each day waiting for a transplant.
- Every 12 minutes a new name is added to the national waiting list.
- Half of those waiting for a kidney transplant are minorities.
