Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will visit Kalamazoo on March 10 – 11 to serve the needs of area alternative high-school students.
It will be in the Douglas Community Association parking lot at 1000 W. Patterson. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. While the mobile office is working with the Douglas Community Association to help alternative high-school students obtain personal identification cards and conduct other transactions, it is open to all customers.
"Our goal is to make it more convenient for all customers to do business with us. We’re pleased to work with local organizations so that more people have access to Secretary of State services," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is a great tool that lets us better reach all corners of Michigan."
The Mobile Branch Office provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office. The facility is handicapper accessible and is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
Following the Kalamazoo visit, the mobile office travels to Traverse City for the Northwest Camper & RV Show. It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly seven years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
