Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land promised during her campaign to "drive Michigan forward" and it’s been a great ride.
Customer-service enhancements, technological advancements, election improvements, traffic-safety initiatives, and an unwavering commitment to the prudent use of tax dollars all distinguish Land’s first year in office.
"Families and taxpayers are the foundation of my agenda," said Land, who became Michigan’s 41st Secretary of State on Jan. 1. "I work for them – it’s that simple. My staff and I are committed to delivering the best possible service. Our customers expect nothing more. They’ll get nothing less. We’ve achieved many of our first-year goals. But the best is yet to come."
