NOVEMBER 6, 2003
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be at the village of Westphalia in Clinton County to serve area customers Nov. 19 – 20.
The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
It will be in front of the Municipal Building at 200 N. Willow. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20.
"We’re committed to providing the best possible customer service," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is an excellent tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan."
The remainder of the year, the mobile office travels to Vermontville, Plainwell,
Battle Creek, and Richland Township. It has logged nearly 100,000 miles since it first hit the road six years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
