OCTOBER 15, 2003
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Wayland on Oct. 29 and 30 to serve area customers.
The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
It will be near the police station at 160 W. Superior. Hours on Oct. 29 are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 30.
"We’re making it easier for our customers to do business with us," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is an excellent tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan. I hope Allegan County residents take advantage of this service."
In November, the mobile office travels to Eaton Rapids, Elsie, Westphalia, and Vermontville. It has logged nearly 100,000 miles since it first hit the road six years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
