Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Detroit on July 22 - 23 to serve area customers.
The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
It will be at the City of Detroit Health Department, Herman Keifer Complex, 1151 Taylor. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
"We are continuing to make the Department of State more convenient and accessible," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is a practical tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan."
In August, the Mobile Branch Office travels to the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba and back to Detroit for the State Fair. It has logged more than 95,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly six years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check the department Web site at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
