Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced two key appointments to the Department of State’s Southeast Michigan Office.
Ryan Ambrozaitis and Eunice Jeffries have been named as the department’s liaisons to Southeast Michigan. They will represent the department and work with a variety of constituent groups to address concerns, issues and policy development.
“Ryan and Eunice are fine public servants who have devoted their careers to improving Southeast Michigan’s quality of life,” Secretary Land said. “They will play an integral role in ensuring that our agenda of customer service and effective government reflects the needs of the region’s diverse metropolitan and suburban populations.”
Secretary Land’s priorities include expanding online services for the convenience of Michigan residents, and ensuring fair and efficient elections through common-sense reforms.
Both Ambrozaitis and Jeffries bring solid experience to their positions.
Ambrozaitis served as the Michigan Chapter director for the American Liver Foundation where he worked with corporations, medical leaders and the public.
Prior to his association with the Liver Foundation, Ambrozaitis was the chief executive for the Canton Chamber of Commerce from 1998 to 2000. He also was the member services manager for the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce. Ambrozaitis graduated from the University of Michigan in Dearborn with a degree in political science. He resides in Livonia.
Jeffries served as an adviser to former Gov. John Engler, dealing with urban policy issues and building coalitions between the state, clergy, communities and businesses. She also was the regional director for former U.S. Sen. Spencer Abraham.
Jeffries graduated from Fisk University in Tennessee with a degree in accounting and business administration. She is on the board of directors for Spectrum Health Services and the Livonia YMCA.
A Detroit resident, Jeffries also is involved with Save Our Sons and Daughters, a nonprofit organization dedicated to violence prevention and victims services with an emphasis on crisis intervention and counseling.
