(05/14/2002) Secretary of State Candice S. Miller today announced the Department of State has unveiled its newly redesigned web site, www.michigan.gov/sos, as part of the state of Michigan’s effort to enhance and streamline web sites among all state government agencies.
“Our new web site is organized by themes to make it easier to find the information you need,” Secretary Miller said today. “If you have a question related to your car, you will now go to the ‘Owning a Vehicle’ theme and there you will find everything from how to title and register a vehicle, to information on getting it repaired.”
Secretary Miller explained that the six new themes on the web site are: Owning a Vehicle, Driver License and ID, Services to Businesses, Elections in Michigan, Notary and Document Certification, and About the Secretary of State. Special features such as “Quick Links,” “Spotlight,” “What’s New” and “Featured Services” allow users to access the most topical and frequently requested information quickly and easily.
The Secretary of State’s “Kids’ Page,” that was part of the previous web site, is currently not available. It is part of a new Michigan.gov “Kids’ Page,” which is under development and should be unveiled later this year.
The new Secretary of State web site is the latest addition to the state of Michigan’s official website (www.michigan.gov) and is part of the e-Michigan initiative to ensure ease and efficiency when navigating throughout all of the state’s web sites.
