JULY 16, 2008
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in southern Kalamazoo County to serve Schoolcraft-area customers on July 30 and 31.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. The office will be in front of Village Hall, 442 N. Grand St.
"I encourage Schoolcraft and area customers to take advantage of this convenient option to conduct their Department of State business," Land said. "The mobile office is a great example of how we're offering service options close to you."
The facility is a full-service Secretary of State office and is accessible to people with disabilities. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer that has logged more than 125,000 miles since it first hit the road more than 10 years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
