Fill out your application including all required information. Obtain a $10,000 surety bond

File surety bond with your county clerk

Pay $10 nonrefundable filing fee

Take oath

Mail application to the Secretary of State

Include $10 nonrefundable application processing fee

Receive wallet-sized commission certificate in mail upon application approval Read the Michigan Notary Public Act (2003 PA 238)
