Non-Alcohol Offense Information

• Mandatory Driver License Suspensions and Revocations
The law requires the Secretary of State to automatically suspend or revoke your driver license for certain violations.

• FAC/FCJ (Failure to Appear in Court/Failure to Comply with Judgment)
Local Courts notify the Michigan Department of State to suspend the driver license of persons who fail to respond to a Michigan traffic citation (FAC) or fail to comply with a Court judgment (FCJ).

• CDL Drivers - Convicted of a Serious Traffic Violation
If you are convicted of certain traffic violations while operating a commerical motor vehicle (CMV), you are subject to stiffer penalties which may result in the suspension or revocation of your CDL.

• CDL Driver's Responsibility to Provide Notification of Convictions or Suspensions
You must notify your employer in writing of traffic violations (other than a parking ticket) committed in any motor vehicle within 30 days of conviction.

• Cancellation or Voluntary Surrender of License
The Secretary of State can cancel a driver license if it has been unlawfully or erroneously issued, or if the application for the license contains untrue or false statements. Parents, legal guardians or responsible adults may cancel a minors license if they no longer wish to be held responsible.
