Visitors to the 50th annual Detroit Boat Show can title and register their new boats on-site or take advantage of other branch office services such as signing up to be an organ donor, Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced today.

The Secretary of State's booth will be on the Cobo Center's main show floor near the Wonderland Marina display. A department representative will be on hand to answer questions about available services. The show is open to the public Feb. 16 - 24.

"The Detroit Boat Show makes a great day for you and your family, and I encourage people to stop by our booth and get their questions answered," Land said. "Boating and recreation make important contributions to our state's economy. They're also perfect ways to experience our state's natural beauty."

Besides inspecting the hundreds of new boat models on display, visitors can view more than 1,000 boats, a dolphin-shaped submersible craft, wakeboarding demonstrations and real game fish in a 45-foot, glass-sided, water-filled semi-trailer, among other attractions.

People who join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry at the booth will receive a heart-logo sticker to put on their driver's license or state identification card. The sticker alerts medical and emergency personnel that the individual has agreed to be an organ donor. Those already on the registry should re-enroll to receive a heart-logo sticker if they don't have one.
