Coldwater Post Troopers Seize $150,000 Worth of Stolen Sporting Goods Equipment
Coldwater, Mich. Michigan State Police (MSP) Coldwater Post received information on a cache of stolen goods while investigating a larceny by false pretense case. The suspect, a 39-year-old male from Coldwater, has been the target of a State Police investigation whereby goods have been ordered from sporting good suppliers with the intent of never paying for them. The suspect had previously been investigated and charged on a case related to this same activity until the most recent discovery of stolen property was made.
Troopers are actively attempting to locate the victim/retailers to return the stolen property. Several of the retailers are located out of the state of Michigan and possibly in Canada.
Some of the items recovered are: (20) Radisson brand canoes, (15) Kayaki brand kayaks, (5) Kiwi brand kayaks, (3) Family Tradition brand tree stands, (3) Contour brand paddle boats, (30) Bulldog brand archery targets, (18) Hurricane brand archery targets, assorted hunting decoys, (6) 3D archery deer targets, (10) archery target systems, (12) various Cross bows, (16) various compound bows, (107) ice fishing rods, (73) various fishing rods, (1) Bow tuner, (10) Lake weed rakes, (21) boxes of wheel bearings, (7) cases of assorted fishing lures.
