Monroe Resident Promoted To Captain And Second District Commander

East Lansing. Michigan State Police (MSP) Director Colonel Tadarial J. Sturdivant is pleased to announce the promotion of Inspector Robert E. Clark to captain and commander of the MSP Second District. The Second District headquarters is located in Northville.
As district commander, Clark oversees the operation of eight posts covering the counties of Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne. The posts provide personnel for traffic patrols, criminal investigations, emergency services, and staffing for task forces and special investigative units.
Prior to his promotion, Clark served as the assistant Region II Special Investigation Division commander where he was responsible for the administration and supervision of seven multijurisdictional task forces.
Clark joined the department in 1979, and graduated as a member of the 96th Recruit School. In his 25-year career, he has served at the Niles, Flat Rock and Northville posts, as well as the Training Division, Downriver Area Narcotics Organization (DRANO), Office of Monroe Narcotics Investigations (OMNI), and the Second District.
During his career, Clark has held ranks as trooper, specialist trooper, sergeant, lieutenant, detective lieutenant, detective first lieutenant, inspector and captain.
A native of Lincoln Park, Clark currently resides in Monroe.
