M-102 (Eight Mile Road) resurfacing in Detroit starts Monday, May 14

- MDOT is resurfacing 2 miles of M-102 between Telegraph Road and Grand River Avenue.
- The project includes reconstructing median crossovers and upgrading sidewalk ramps.
- All work on this $6 million investment will be completed in November.

May 3, 2012 -- On Monday, May 14, contracting crews will begin a project to resurface 2 miles of M-102 (Eight Mile Road) between M-5 (Grand River Avenue) and US-24 (Telegraph Road) on Detroit's west side. All work on this $6 million investment will be completed in November.

During construction, two lanes of M-102 will be open in each direction during peak travel times. Both directions of 8 Mile Road may be reduced to a single lane during the following times:

- 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays,
- 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, and
- 9 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to the resurfacing work, crews will repair median crossovers, upgrade sidewalks to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, replace various storm sewers and repair the 8 Mile Road bridge over the Rouge River.
