Food Establishment Licensing Quick Guide

Michigan Department of Agriculture Logo If you are looking to start a food establishment, including anything from a vending machine to a restaurant, you'll need a license to operate within the State of Michigan. Towards that end we've put together a Food Establishment Quick Guide with the intent of helping new and prospective entrepreneurs in licensing their businesses. Content includes the different types of food establishment licenses available, with specific examples of businesses falling under each type, and where to attain the license (either state or local).  If the license is provided by the state, fee information is available as well as links to step-by-step instructions, application forms, applicable laws and regional office information to answer any question not answered by the Quick Guide and its constituent parts.  Check out the Food Establishment Licensing Quick Guide now!
