The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the dentistry license of Raymond LaMont Woodbury, III, D.D.S., based on his felony conviction in the 30th Judicial Circuit Court, Ingham County, Michigan.

On Nov. 28, 2007, Woodbury, 39, was convicted of one felony count of Medicaid fraud - false claim. As a result, Woodbury was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for one day, placed on probation for a period of one year with terms, and ordered to pay restitution, and other court fees totaling $7,320.00.

On May 5, 2008, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Woodbury's license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional's license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Woodbury's dentistry license.
