November 3, 2009 - Over 1,000 Commercial Vehicles Checked During Week-Long Safety Effort

LANSING . Michigan State Police (MSP) motor carrier officers conducted 1,053 commercial motor vehicle inspections during Operation Safe Driver, a national effort to address commercial motor vehicle driver behaviors that increase the likelihood of a crash.
Between October 19 and October 23, motor carrier officers conducted 1,108 commercial vehicle license checks and issued 937 citations.
Operation Safe Driver is organized by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
