Promotes fun, appreciation and knowledge of Michigan's great outdoor heritage. Students will enjoy doing the activities in their journal, most of which can be completed during the field trip.

• Mackinac State Historic Park Site Visits
Bring your group to Mackinac State Historic Parks for a great first-hand on site experience. Colonial Michilimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park in Mackinaw City and Fort Mackinac and Mackinac Island State Park on Mackinac Island can make history and science come alive!

• Mackinac State Historic Parks Outreach Programs
These hour long programs bring the Straits area and Michigan to the classroom. Experience the sights, sounds and smells that will bring you closer to the cultural and natural history of Michigan. During the fall and spring our entertaining and informative interpretive staff bring these programs to you. These programs are designed for grades three through six.

• Michigan Historical Museum - School Visits and Group Tours
Whoever your group members—students, seniors, international visitors—and whatever your tour needs—theme, general, hands-on—we offer a variety of ways for you to explore Michigan's past at the Michigan Historical Museum

• Michigan Supreme Court Learning Center Tours and Educational Resources
The Learning Center is designed for students from the fourth grade to adults and the gallery is filled with activities including an introductory video, computer programs, push-button programs and traditional wall text panels.

• Michigan's Watchable Wildlife
This online version of the popular Michigan Wildlife Viewing Guide, features 121 of the best places in Michigan to view wildlife. We've also added links to some of the best resources available. No matter where you are in the state, sites in this guide are only minutes away!

• Military Muster at Fort Mackinac
Muster your students and march them up the hill. Enlist them into the army of the 1880s. Drill and march them on the parade ground, walk the sentry beat, find out how kid's lives have changed in 100 years and learn about Mackinac history through Military Muster at Fort Mackinac!

• State Fish Hatcheries
Hatcheries offer outdoor trails, interpretative rooms with learning opportunities concerning our watersheds and other aspects of fish culture.

There is no charge to tour the Capitol or the Michigan Library and Historical Center. To arrange visits or tours for groups of 10 or more, please call the Capitol Tour and Information Service at (517) 373-2353.
