M-25 and M-15 paving project to start Monday, Aug. 3

STARTING DATE: Monday, Aug. 3, 2009

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Mid-September 2009

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to begin paving 8-foot wide non-motorized shoulders along M-25 and M-15, beginning Monday, Aug. 3.

Work extends 3.8 miles on M-25 from the Tuscola County line to Myers Road in Huron County; 5.7 miles on M-15 from Millington to Vassar in Tuscola County; and 6.8 miles on M-25 from Port Sanilac to Deckerville Road in Sanilac County.

The $1.2 million project starts in Huron County, then moves to Tuscola County, and will finish up in Sanilac County.

This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Single-lane and shoulder closures will be in effect for the duration of this project. Traffic will be maintained using flag control.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: Pyramid Paving and Contracting Co., Essexville, is the contractor for this project, which will continue MDOT's effort to create non-motorized shoulders on M-25, around the Thumb area, and along the M-15 Heritage Route.
