Contact:  Kari Arend, MDOT Office of Communications, 517-750-0406
Agency: Transportation

June 15, 2009 -- Starting Tuesday, June 16, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will have single-lane closures on US-23 in Monroe County. Lane closures are needed to complete concrete repair and sealing work from a 2008 construction project that occurred between School Road and Ida Center Road.

The single-lane closure will begin on southbound US-23 at Ida Center Road, between mile marker 8 and mile marker 4. When the work on southbound US-23 is complete, the closure will move to northbound US-23 in the same location.

All work is expected to take two weeks to complete.

For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive.
