M-117 chip sealing begins today

ESTIMATED STARTING DATE: Wednesday, June 10, 2009

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Wednesday, July 15, 2009

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be filling cracks and chip sealing nearly 10 miles of M-117 in Mackinac County, from north of US-2 to the Luce County line. This project also will include construction of curb and gutter in the village of Engadine, and making sidewalk ramps Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: This work will require temporary lane closures with flag control. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: When completed, this project will extend the pavement service life.
