November 2011: Project Management Month
WHEREAS, project management is the profession by which businesses and other organizations, public and private, plan, organize, secure and manage resources to clearly define and execute visions and goals; and,
WHEREAS, project management often relates to the fields of software development, telecommunications, computer networking, architecture and construction; and,
WHEREAS, project managers and their teams are the dedicated professionals that lead and oversee various projects, and are responsible for accomplishing stated project objectives; and,
WHEREAS, during this month, we raise awareness of the project management profession in Michigan and we recognize project managers throughout our state as they contribute greatly to every aspect of industry in Michigan; we encourage all citizens to learn more about project management and to explore career opportunities in this vital field;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, Governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim November 2011 as Project Management Month in Michigan.
