This unique facility is owned and operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
The Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center combines rustic lodging and modern meeting and conference center facilities. Nestled on the northern shore of Higgins Lake, the RAM Center offers one of the most distinctive meeting and outdoor experiences in Michigan's northern woods. Reservations are open to nonprofit, government and education-based organizations, as well as private business with an outdoor or green-themed agenda.
Additionally, families, friends and other small groups are invited to learn about local wildlife, Michigan ecosystems and outdoor skills during – with options like birdwatching, kayaking, a family scavenger hunt and more – at many all-inclusive Lodge & Learn weekends and public events held throughout the year.
Track chair available! A new track chair – available first-come, first-reserved at no cost – expands access beyond traditional wheelchairs to trails at the RAM Center and North Higgins Lake State Park. To make advance reservations, please complete this online form.
There are six rustic lodges that provide unique overnight experiences.

The RAM Center began as the Higgins Lake Conservation Training School in 1941 and many of its buildings were proudly constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corp between 1939-1942.
